As an educator, I believe that we need to try to
teach all our students to become the best they can be with the goal of
developing lifelong learners who have the skills to compete and function
as valuable contributing members of our society. All students can learn
and progress to the next level. The challenge is struggling to
achieve this with factors that are out of our control. Today, educators
need staff development to maximize student achievement despite those
factors for which we have little influence.
I served on the Staff Support Team at the Timony Grammar School as part of
the pre-referral team for special education for seven years and the
student council advisor for four years at the Marsh Grammar School.
I had the pleasure and opportunity to help design and create the by-laws
for the Marsh Grammar School Faculty Senate, a committee designed to open
communication and unify our new pre-k to grade 8 school. I served six years as president.
I was the supervisor Unified Talents
Summer Enrichment for grades pre-K through 8 for six years. We had over 200 students and
about twenty
teachers participating in the program for enrichment classes such as reading tutoring, basketball, baton twirling, and much more.
I served as the Methuen Education Association
President at Methuen Public Schools for six years.
Currently, I am in my third year as Webmaster on the
Board of Directors for Learning Forward New England, a professional
learning organization.
Lastly, I am my 7th year as Advisor for the Marsh Bowling Club.
